Books for Youth Colts game day Sunday, Sept. 11

Community Driven: Cargo Services sponsors 8th Books for Youth season

Cargo Services welcomes Colts Rookie Center Ryan Kelly to the Books for Youth team. This statewide Indiana program provides 25 age-appropriate books to Hoosier foster youth, who have little to call their own. Thank you to all of our customers who have hosted Books for Youth events through the years. We hope you’ve enjoyed the experience as much as the Cargo Services team has. We say our ROI is the smiles on the faces of the children who receive the backpacks.

Books for Youth day at the Colts game
Books for Youth is operated in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Indianapolis Colts. Sunday, Sept. 11 is Books for Youth Day at the home opener Colts vs. Detroit Lions. Bring bobooks-for-youth-kokomo3oks to the game to donate at the entry gates.
What: The Books for Youth team invites Colts fans to bring books to donate to the Books for Youth program. All donations will be accepted at Lucas Oil Stadium gate entries. Cash donations also will be accepted for the program.
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium where team members will accept book/cash donations at entry gates and a fan will be invited to personally donate their books to a Hoosier foster child during an on field presentation.
Why: At any given time there are 12,000 children in the Indiana foster system. “Many of these kids have little to call their own. Study after study proves reading is a key to lifelong success. If we can give these kids something of their own that also provides an educational opportunity, we’re providing an experience to help move foster children toward a successful adulthood. We’re inviting Colts fans to join us, and make a donation to support of Hoosier foster children,” says Cargo Services CFO Steve Fugate.
Public Participation: Fans not attending game day also can support the program during the 2016 season through the Buy One Give One program. For each blue backpack purchased one is donated to the program and distributed to an Indiana foster child. Visit the Colts website for details and to make purchases.
