Evansville-based DSM Engineering Plastics will host representatives of the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, July 26, as members of the NFL franchise head to southern Indiana to pass out books and backpacks to 20 lucky Indiana foster children. It is all part of the Colts/Cargo Services Inc. corporate sponsored Books for Youth campaign that provides books and backpacks to Indiana foster children.

Books for Youth, sponsored by Cargo Services, started in 2006 through a partnership between the Colts and Department of Child Services. Anyone who buys a limited edition “Blue” backpack will receive a match courtesy of the program that includes a second backpack filled with 25 books that will be donated to an Indiana foster child. Cargo Services co-owner Will Batton will be onsite Tuesday handing out books and meeting the children along with some employees from client-company DSM. “We are all looking forward to working alongside Colts representatives on Tuesday to hand out books and backpacks,” says Batton. “It’s always a lot of fun to see the smiles on the kid’s faces as they meet the cheerleaders and see Blue.”
