Cargo Services Inc. is expanding the company's Read to Succeed initative through a new Indiana Pacers partnership. Cargo Services Inc. is now the title sponsor of the NBA franchise's Read Like a Pro Reading Timeouts program.
This Pacers Cares Read Like A Pro Reading Time Outs program invites teachers and administrators throughout central Indiana to sign up and welcome special guest readers to join children from kindergarten to third grade to join their classes. Readers include Pacers players and coaches, local celebrities, Boomer, Pacemates and community partners, such as CSI staff. During the one-hour Reading Time Outs program children are read a story from an oversized book. They each receive a Pacers backpack filled with a Pacers poster, bookmark and Scholastic book. Students have the opportunity to win Pacers prizes, too.
Cargo Services, an Indianapolis owned and operated global freight forwarding company, is dedicated to giving back to youth in the community through its Read to Succeed initiative. “Reading is a core component to lifelong success. Inspiring young readers by sponsoring Pacers Reading Time Outs means we’re making a difference in children’s lives in our community long term. That’s priceless!” Steve Fugate, CFO Cargo Services.
During 2014, Cargo Services team members and Pacers representatives will read to approximately 5,000 Indianapolis school children through the program. Teachers can sign up for Reading Time Outs online. Reading events will take place from January to May 2014. Learn more and sign up now go to the Pacers website.
